STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR AND LT. GOVERNOR OF GUAM |

Governor Felix P. Camacho and Lt. Governor Michael W. Cruz, M.D. issued the following statement regarding the death of local columnist, journalist and former Pacific Daily News Editor Joe Murphy:
"Joe Murphy was a pioneer whose knowledge and expertise helped shape the journalism field on Guam. He inspired debates about policies and issues that affect our island and the quality of life for our people. He was an amazing writer whose sense of humor and keen insight of our community and way of life will inspire us and generations to come. We join the people of Guam in mouring this tremendous loss and offer our thoughts and prayers to the Murphy family during this difficult time. His voice will be sorely missed."
