Web Site Advisory April 3, 2008

Our web host will be performing routine maintenance on the MySql server that contains our data. The following message was provided by our host:

MySQL Maintenance Scheduled for Tonight

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve MySQL performance, we will be adding new hardware and re-allocating the load on our MySQL servers between 12:00am and 5:00am EDT on Thursday, April 3, 2008. During this five-hour maintenance window, there may be periods of time when your database is temporarily inaccessible, making the database-driven pieces of your Web site temporarily unavailable to your visitors. (You should be able to connect to your database(s) as normal for most of this maintenance window, but you may experience intermittent connectivity issues between midnight and 5:00am EDT.)

We have scheduled this maintenance for a time when traffic to most customers' sites is typically at its lowest. Still, we apologize for any inconvenience, and we expect that the work we're doing will help improve your site's performance.

DMHSA Implements Consumer Satisfaction Survey PDF Print E-mail
June 28, 2009

Governor Felix P. Camacho and Lieutenant Governor Michael W. Cruz, M.D., praised the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse (DMHSA) for recently adopting a patient satisfaction survey. The Department’s Consumer Satisfaction Survey, in line with national Health Center Patient Satisfaction Survey, was implemented on May 22, 2009, to coincide with the 28th anniversary celebration of Saint Dymphna, the patron saint of individuals who suffer from mental health disorders.

“The satisfaction survey is essential to improving the services provided by the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse, and the staff and administration ought to be commended for its implementation,” said Lieutenant Governor Cruz, who is head of the Healthy Guam Initiative. “This survey will allow the public, especially DMHSA consumers, to have their voices heard. Additionally, it will go a long way toward ensuring that our people receive accountable and responsible management at the department.”

The survey is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to implement best practices under Dr. David L.G. Shimizu, DMHSA Director. The results of the survey will be collected on a monthly basis and will be made available by the department.

“We continue to search for new ways to gain input from our consumers and this survey offers another outlet for that,” said Dr. Shimizu. “I am very proud of the staff and management of DMHSA for their hard work and dedication, as they continue striving to provide quality healthcare.”
