Web Site Advisory April 3, 2008

Our web host will be performing routine maintenance on the MySql server that contains our data. The following message was provided by our host:

MySQL Maintenance Scheduled for Tonight

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve MySQL performance, we will be adding new hardware and re-allocating the load on our MySQL servers between 12:00am and 5:00am EDT on Thursday, April 3, 2008. During this five-hour maintenance window, there may be periods of time when your database is temporarily inaccessible, making the database-driven pieces of your Web site temporarily unavailable to your visitors. (You should be able to connect to your database(s) as normal for most of this maintenance window, but you may experience intermittent connectivity issues between midnight and 5:00am EDT.)

We have scheduled this maintenance for a time when traffic to most customers' sites is typically at its lowest. Still, we apologize for any inconvenience, and we expect that the work we're doing will help improve your site's performance.

Governor to Establish Ties with Australia PDF Print E-mail
Business opportunities and investment during the Guam Buildup is focus of discussions

February 2, 2008

Governor Felix P. Camacho will establish closer economic and community ties to Australia during meetings next week in the cities of Cairns, Townsville, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney beginning this Monday.

"It is time we extend our regional alliances and build a lasting friendship with Australia that can help bring solutions to the challenges we face with infrastructure and workforce development," Governor Camacho said.  "We are building partnerships that will benefit us during the Guam Buildup and as we work to sustain growth beyond it."

Governor Camacho will be promoting business opportunities and investment in Guam with the Minister of Trade, mayors, tourism and infrastructure officials and business leaders.  He also will be the guest speaker of an event hosted by The Australian National University Strategic and Defence Studies Centre.  The Governor will discuss the Guam Buildup and invite Australians to share in the opportunities ahead during this speech.

The Governor will begin his official visit in Cairns on Monday.  He will travel the following morning to Townsville and leave that same night to Canberra.  Wednesday evening, he will travel to Melbourne and he will meet Minister of Trade Simon Crean on Thursday morning.  Immediately following the meeting, the Governor will depart for Sydney for more meetings and return to Guam early Monday morning.

The official visit was organized by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.  Governor Camacho was invited by Australian Ambassador Susan Cox to come to Australia to discuss issues of mutual benefit.  The Australian government is paying for the Governor's visit.
