Acting Governor Michael W. Cruz, M.D, announced today that the Government of Guam has been awarded a $440,000 grant from the U.S. Department of the Interior – Office of Insular Affairs for capital improvement projects.
The award amount will be designated to the following: $140,000 for community improvements in Mangilao, $150,000 for Guam Police Department motorcycle procurement, and $150,000 for Guam Community College Allied Health Center collateral equipment.
The identified projects were detailed in a proposal submitted by Governor Camacho to the U.S. Department of Interior on April 24, 2009.
“Despite our nation’s economic downturn, we continue to identify and secure the funds to move our island forward,” said Acting Governor Cruz. “All over the island, capital improvement projects are taking place island-wide to better serve our community, and this administration remains committed to the health and safety of our island.”
