The Bureau of Budget and Management Research (BBMR) recently released the government of Guam’s 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Fund Report for the quarter ending June 30. Federal stimulus funding information was gathered from various government of Guam departments and agencies pursuant to BBMR Circular 09-05.

“The ARRA funding we have received thus far will go toward improving government services for our people, and the report shows exactly where the money is going,” said Governor Felix P. Camacho. “I commend the employees of BBMR for working diligently in preparing this document and making it available to the public.”

The ARRA was signed into law by President Barack Obama in February of this year and was intended to provide a stimulus to the U.S. economy amidst a worldwide economic downturn. The government of Guam has applied for approximately $207 million in ARRA funding.

“Our government has received over $52 million in ARRA grants as of June 30, 2009,” said BBMR Director Bertha Duenas. “These funds will definitely boost Guam’s revenue stream over the near term and continue through 2012.”

The public may view the report by visiting www.bbmr.guam.gov as well as www.recovery.guam.gov. The next quarterly report, for the period ending Sept. 30, will be released by BBMR in October.
