Web Site Advisory April 2, 2008
We are in the midst of recreating our site after encountering technical difficulties. Please check back for the latest updates. We anticipate the completion of the restoration effort by April 3, 2008.
Web Site Advisory April 3, 2008 Our web host will be performing routine maintenance on the MySql server that contains our data. The following message was provided by our host: MySQL Maintenance Scheduled for Tonight
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve MySQL performance, we will be adding new hardware and re-allocating the load on our MySQL servers between 12:00am and 5:00am EDT on Thursday, April 3, 2008. During this five-hour maintenance window, there may be periods of time when your database is temporarily inaccessible, making the database-driven pieces of your Web site temporarily unavailable to your visitors. (You should be able to connect to your database(s) as normal for most of this maintenance window, but you may experience intermittent connectivity issues between midnight and 5:00am EDT.) We have scheduled this maintenance for a time when traffic to most customers' sites is typically at its lowest. Still, we apologize for any inconvenience, and we expect that the work we're doing will help improve your site's performance. - 04/02/08 at 14:52 ET

Executives to discuss challenges and solutions to regional concerns Dec. 2, 2009
Governor Felix P. Camacho will host the chief leaders of Micronesia in the 12th Micronesian Chief Executives’ Summit beginning tomorrow morning and concluding Friday at the Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort.
Topics on the agenda for discussion include invasive species; regional recycling, transportation, tourism, and health; the Micronesian Challenge, in which the Micronesian islands share a commitment to conserve terrestrial and near-shore marine resources; renewable energy; and overall efforts for a sustainable future on the Micronesian islands.
“As chief executives of the islands in our region, we recognize that maintenance of healthy ecosystems and sustainable resource management are critical to the livelihoods of Pacific people,” said Gov. Camacho. “And at the same time, our islands are extremely vulnerable when it comes to the effects of climate change and modern development. These biannual summits become increasingly crucial. They bring us together as island leaders to share similar challenges and find solutions that last well into the future.”
Gov. Camacho will be joined at the summit by Kenneth Kedi, minister of Transportation and Communication for the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), representing RMI President Jurelang Zedkaia; Benigno Fitial, governor of the CNMI; Johnson Toribiong, president of the Republic of Palau; Emanuel Mori, president of the Federated States of Micronesia; Wesley Simina, governor of Chuuk; Sebastian Anefal, governor of Yap; Robert Weilbacher, governor of Kosrae; and John Ehsa, governor of Pohnpei.
The Micronesian Chief Executives’ Summit was founded in 2004 by Gov. Camacho and former CNMI Governor Juan Babauta and calls for the establishment of the sub-regional meetings to establish closer ties, enhance existing ties, expand future discussions, and agree on beneficial initiatives for the entire Western Micronesian Region. |
