Public Invited to Compatibility Sustainability Study Workshop |

March 8, 2010 The Governor’s Office announced today that the Advisory Consulting Team (ACT) will be conducting the second round of public workshops pertaining to the Compatibility Sustainability Study (CSS) they have been conducting on behalf of the governor’s office. The primary goal of the CSS is to reduce potential conflicts between military missions and the Guam community, while sustaining the island’s economic vitality, accommodating targeted job development, and protecting the public’s health and safety. The workshop will be held at three different locations. Monday, March 15, 2010 6:00 – 8:00 PM University of Guam Field House Mangilao Tuesday, March 16, 2010 6:00 – 8:00 PM Southern High School Santa Rita Wednesday, March 17, 2010 6:00 – 8:00 PM Yigo Gymnasium Yigo The workshops will present an overview of existing and potential compatibility and encroachment issues related to the military on Guam.
“We must continue to work together to prevent, and if necessary, mitigate impacts which may negatively affect the lives of our people,” said Acting Gov. Cruz. “These workshops will help facilitate more dialogue on how our military and civilian communities can coexist in ways that build our economy and sustain our way of life. I encourage everyone to participate in these workshops and help shape the future of our island.”
